PST Email Management
Today, more and more data is stored in your email system. Virtually all organizations now include a data protection process in their IT infrastructure to preserve through their email data, usually through a mailbox backup system.
But what about email data stored on workstations or laptops, like Outlook® PST files?
Very often, these are part of the backup process as they are stored locally and cannot always be accessed or are in use. We found that for most of our customers, this volume of local data is now twice the data which is stored in mailboxes. Large organizations using Exchange® and Outlook® have been facing the problem of PST files management for a long time. Even if the eventual goal is to get rid of PST files, an interim strategy must be put in place to preserve the data contained in these files. With the enormous increase of average PST files size since Outlook® 2007, IT managers need to build and run efficient solutions to reorganize this data, decrease their storage cost and simplify backup or archiving. Standard backup systems do not have a good solution to handle these PST files.
